Your Questions, Answered.

We believe everyone deserves to feel confident. Flexible financing options are available to make your procedure affordable.

Patient comfort is a top priority. For surgical procedures, a local anesthetic is used to completely numb the scalp so you should feel zero pain during the surgery itself. Non-surgical options like PRP injections may cause mild, brief discomfort, while laser therapies are generally painless.

Surgical hair restoration (i.e. transplanted follicles) gives permanent results because those grafts are genetically resistant to typical hair loss. Non-surgical treatments (like PRP or lasers) can produce significant improvements in thickness, shedding, and hair health, but often require maintenance treatments to sustain results.

Timeline depends on the method used. After surgical hair transplantation, most patients begin to see new hair growth in 3-4 months, with more substantive density and appearance by 9 months to a year, and full maturation often around 12-18 months. Non-surgical therapies may show improvements in thickness and shedding sooner (a few months), though full effects accumulate over time.

Dr. Ambay offers both surgical and non-surgical hair restoration options:

  • Surgical: FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction), robotic-assisted hair transplantation

  • Non-surgical: Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, low-level laser therapy, and other regenerative / adjunctive treatments

Recovery varies by procedure. Non-surgical treatments (e.g. PRP, lasers) have little to no downtime — many patients return to day-to-day activities immediately. For surgical procedures such as FUE, most people can resume non-strenuous activity within a few days. Full recovery (including visibility of results) continues over months as new grafts settle and grow.
